Within the last ten years, the occurrence of methamphetamine in Nevada has gone from strength to strength. From being an innocuous drug, it has now even overcome the popularities of cocaine and heroin addiction in Nevada. This is certainly a cause of great concern, because methamphetamine is known to be one of the most addictive drugs in the world to treat.

Most of the methamphetamine that is present on the scene of drug addiction in Nevada is sourced from the outside country of Mexico. From there, the drug comes into the state through the roadways, mostly brought in by the illegal drug trafficking organizations operating via motorcycles and vehicles. Also, a lot of methamphetamine is being sourced into the state from the other states. Nevada lies on the traffic map of the drug trafficking organizations; hence, it acts both as a networking center as well as a market for the drug.

But a greater reason for the popularity of methamphetamine and crystal meth addiction in Nevada is the fact that the drug is also produced locally in a very high extent. This is done through the various small labs operating in various areas of the state. These clandestine operations are performed by one or two people of the same family and by using the commonly used raw materials that are needed for the production of methamphetamine, including the cough syrups containing ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. Despite large-scale raids on such outfits, many still exist today and each of them has a potential of supplying up to ten pounds of pure amphetamine per day to the state.
