Types Of Outpatient Treatment Program For Alcohol Addiction In Arkansas PDF Print E-mail

Outpatient programs for drug addiction treatment in Arkansas have always been quite popular and not without reason. The most important reason for their popularity is the liberty that they provide. These programs do not require the patient to be confined in a treatment center. They allow the patient to stay in their homes even as they are undergoing treatment. This enables them to continue their other occupations.

There are three important types of outpatient drug treatment in Arkansas. These are described briefly below.

Outpatient Treatment Program

The basic outpatient program of drug treatment in Arkansas requires the patient to attend the treatment center only for up to nine hours a week. These hours are divided into three or four sessions across the week. The program deals more with counseling care so that the patient can work out his or her emotional problems that might be binding them to the addiction. Medicinal therapies can be included within the program, but not too intensively.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program

This program is more stringent than the basic program. It has the patient visit the treatment center for more hours per week and also follows more stringent medicinal therapies.

Day Treatment Program

This is a carefully designed version of the outpatient treatment program where the patient needs to attend the center on a daily basis. The program includes several medical and nonmedical elements, designed at eradicating the addiction from the person’s body. The program is well-suited to people in moderate cases of addiction who wish to continue their study or work even as they are undergoing treatment at the center.
